RIF 2019 to mark 25th anniversary of .RU

The 23rd Russian Internet Forum RIF 2019 will take place on April 17-19 at the Lesnye Dali resort in the Moscow Region. For years, the Coordination Center for TLD .RU/.РФ has supported the RIF and held its events there. The year 2019 is special both for the Coordination Center and the entire Russian internet: it marks the 25th anniversary of the Russian national domain .RU. Many events that the Coordination Center will hold at RIF will be connected with this date.

Coordination Center experts will take part in the forum’s business program. On April 17, Director of the Coordination Center Andrei Vorobyov will speak at the opening of RIF 2019 and talk about the past and future of the .RU domain, prospects for its development and the influence of the domain market on the internet industry and the digital economy in general.

On the same day, Hall 6 will host a session on how to protect your rights on the internet. Practicing lawyers from leading Russian companies will tell the audience how to protect their rights on the net and how to avoid unjust claims. Participants in the session will also be able to pose questions to those who deal with copyright protection on a daily basis.

The stand of the Coordination Center at RIF (V2-V3) will feature accredited registrars in .RU and .РФ who will speak about their services and hold various quizzes and competitions. Winners and participants will be given souvenirs.

The Learn the Internet, Manage It! national online competition will take place at the Coordination Center tent located near the main entrance to the Lesnye Dali resort during the forum. Many of the quiz questions, as well as the prizes and awards, will relate to the history of the .RU domain. Each participant will receive a prize.
