Andrey Krutskikh — MFA of Russia

Born in 1951 in Moscow.

1973: Graduated from Moscow State Institute of International Relations.

1973: Began his diplomatic career at the Foreign Ministry, where he held different posts at the Department of North America, the Security and Disarmament Department and the Department for New Challenges and Threats, as well as at Russia’s embassies and consulates general in Washington, D.C. (USA) and Ottawa and Montreal (Canada).

2004-2005 and 2009-2010: Chair of the UN Group of Governmental Experts on Developments in the Field of Information and Telecommunications in the Context of International Security.

2006-present: Chair of the SCO Expert Group on International Information Security.

2012-present: Foreign Ministry Special Coordinator for the Use of Information and Communication Technology for Political Purposes, Ambassador at Large.

2014-present: Special Presidential Representative for International Cooperation in Information Security.

Doctor of History, Professor, full member of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, Director of the Centre for International Information Security, Science and Technology Policy at MGIMO University. Author of numerous research papers and articles on the history of international relations
